Warehouse Manager - London Area

Designer Recruitment are seeking a Warehouse Manager for our client who specialises in luxury furniture. This is a permanent position paying £40,000 - £45,000 per annum. 

The Warehouse is situated in Dartford.

Working hours 8am-4pm.

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the furniture warehouse, including inventory management, storage, distribution, and staff supervision. This role ensures efficient handling of bulky and high-value furniture items while maintaining safety, quality, and timely delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Operations Management

  • Oversee receiving, storage, and dispatch of furniture products

  • Ensure proper handling of large, fragile, and high-value items

  • Optimize warehouse layout for space utilization and accessibility

• Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems

  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate reordering

• Team Leadership

  • Supervise warehouse staff, including loaders, pickers, and forklift operators

  • Schedule shifts and assign daily tasks

  • Train staff on handling furniture safely and efficiently

• Logistics & Distribution

  • Coordinate deliveries and dispatch schedules

  • Work closely with their outsourced transport teams and drivers

  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment

• Health & Safety Compliance

  • Enforce workplace safety standards, especially for heavy lifting and equipment use

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies

  • Conduct safety training and inspections

• Quality Control

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing furniture for damage

  • Manage returns, repairs, or replacements

• Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements

  • Introduce best practices in warehouse operations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager (preferably in furniture or appliances)

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems

• Leadership and team management skills

• Understanding of health & safety regulations

• Ability to handle physically demanding environments

• Good organizational and problem-solving skills

• Familiarity with forklifts and warehouse equipment (certification preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in furniture logistics or retail distribution

• Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management software

• First Aid or Health & Safety certification
