Designer Recruitment are seeking a proactive, highly organised Project & Installation Manager to oversee the successful delivery of bespoke projects from production through installation. This is a client-facing role that also requires close coordination with internal teams (designers, makers, fitters) and external trades. Working on up to 4 projects per month, the ideal candidate will help ensure every detail of each project is executed to Notch Studio’s exacting standards—on time, on budget, and with exceptional service.
This role is paying £35,000 - £45,000, dependent on experience.
Project Manager duties:
Overall Project Management
- Ensure the smooth delivery of each project from workshop to final installation.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients to provide a premium, stress-free experience.
- Ensure that every project is completed to the highest quality and design standard.
Client Communication
- Act as the client’s main point of contact throughout the installation phase.
- Communicate install dates, arrival times and working windows.
- Provide a clear schedule of works.
- Issue progress updates during installation.
- Coordinate with the Lead Fitter to address and resolve any client concerns or on-site issues promptly.
Installation & Lead Fitter Coordination
- Brief Lead Fitter before installation, including all relevant project and site information (rules, parking, access, working areas, client preferences, etc.).
- Maintain regular contact during the install to ensure smooth execution and problem-solving.
- Ensure adherence to Notch Studio’s installation best practices.
Workshop Coordination
- Allocate projects to makers based on team capacity and skills.
- Monitor time tracking in Clockify and ensure consistent usage.
- Compare actual maker time against initial estimates to inform future planning.
- Keep makers informed of key deadlines and project milestones.
Design Team Liaison
- Communicate regularly with Designers regarding technical design deadlines.
- Ensure Designers are kept up to date on production and installation timelines.
- Keep Sales Designers informed of next available project slots to manage client expectations.
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Keep the project planner fully up to date with all confirmed and prospective projects.
- Adjust timelines as needed to reflect real-time developments.
- Proactively flag any scheduling gaps or planning risks to directors and sales team.
Site Surveys & Sign-Offs
- Attend and lead Pre-Installation Site Surveys, Technical Measures, and Project Sign-Offs.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience in project management within interior design, joinery, or high-end fit-out
- Proven ability to manage multi-trade projects from concept to completion
- Strong understanding of bespoke furniture production and on-site installation requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills—calm, confident, and client-focused
- Comfortable reading technical drawings and coordinating multiple internal and external teams
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and commitment to quality
- Full UK driving license (required)
